Went on the Rewild Swimwear trip and had a blast! Lundy diving were so accommodating, Obsession II was a great boat with a nice toilet and plenty of space to change and move around. The staff were so friendly and the cup of tea and chocolate bar after 2 hours in the sea in October was very much needed! Saw a few seals which spent some time with myself and my group and got some lovely memories and GoPro footage! Swimming with seals at Lundy Island can be a unique and exhilarating experience for several reasons.

This trip is one swim with seals session 1hr and then a session to go see the puffins around the Island at Jenny’s cove

Firstly, Lundy Island is home to a large population of Atlantic grey seals, making it an ideal location to observe and interact with these fascinating marine creatures. The seals on Lundy Island are known for their inquisitive and playful nature, and swimming with them allows you to witness their graceful movements and observe their natural behaviour in their own environment.

Furthermore, Lundy Island's seal population is protected under the Conservation of Seals Act 1970, which has allowed their numbers to grow significantly. This protection ensures the preservation of the seal colony and contributes to the long-term sustainability of the species.

Swimming with seals at Lundy Island can therefore offer a thrilling and educational experience as you connect with these incredible marine animals in their natural habitat.

If we are unable to make it round the other side of the island to see the Puffins due to weather conditions another seal swim will be given instead.

3.45 hours exploring the beautiful island, time for walk to pub, then to Jenny’s cove where we were advised puffins had been seen  - and they were there  👍🏼😄 then walk back to beach area for a swim in the beautiful clear water just before trip back - would recommend this trip

The weather was amazing- blue sky, calm seas and a light wind. We relaxed on Lundy swimming and exploring, saw some puffins and a pair of peregrines and then had the most amazing encounter with the seals. After 15 mins of them staying out of our way at least one was very interactive. Probably young it was behaving like a puppy. So playful and engaging. The trip surpassed expectations and was just amazing

I love swimming and I love nature walks; Lundy Diving  perfectly combines 2 of my favourite hobbies. Lundy is such a beautiful island to visit. In June there are so many birds to see, including the beautiful little puffins. My favourite though is the skylark, and it is in abundance on the island. Their singing is the epitome of summer.  Another surprise is the amount of deer on the island around 90 to 120 sika deer and they are lovely to spot.
The Lundy Diving crew are friendly, knowledgeable and very skilled. The fact that there are only 12 passengers per trip makes it feel very special and there is plenty of room to relax on the boat. 
Swimming with seals at Lundy is very special too. It can be a little daunting at first, because the male seals are quite big. The seal pups are inquisitive and playful and it’s so amazing to interact with them if you are lucky enough to be approached by one. Another great treat is that the boat is sometimes joined by dolphins as it nears or leaves the island. What a privilege! 
I’ve been to Lundy with Lundy Diving a few times now, and each time is very special and I can’t wait to go again.

Absolutely fantastic trip. Our second time with Lundy Diving & this time we were able to see the puffins as well as swim with the seals. The puffins meant we had a boat trip right the way around the island, which was an added bonus. The hot chocolate was a welcome treat after the swim. We will be back!

The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful! Lundy island was charming. A windswept, rugged island which made for a real sense of exploration. We saw puffins which was special and the seal swim was just such a privilege - lovely creatures, and it felt very much as though they were entertained by us rather than stressed or worried. 

Things I wish I had known before: There is no flexibility for rearranging dates. The trip was cancelled on us the week before with less than 24 hours notice (understandable because it was weather related) and luckily our b&b let us rearrange our booking with them otherwise we would have lost that money - very much recommend The Rocky Cove B&B, the hosts were very lovely and it was perfectly located - The cancellation left only two dates this year for me to avoid clashing holidays at work. I rebooked for the following week and caught a stomach bug. I asked to rearrange and that was dismissed immediately. To avoid losing the booking fees I had to go and felt pretty awful all day which was a shame. My advice is be very sure of the dates you book and be ready for a last minute cancellation by the tour provider.

I didn’t inform the tour of this but my daughter and I are plant based and none of the drinks and snacks provided were suitable for us. We were offered tea or coffee and chocolate bars. Not a problem for most people but something I would mention next time as it was pretty disappointing.

The water is very cold, it suggests children of all ages but I have a very tough 9 year old and she freaked out a little. I really wouldn’t take a child any younger than her.

All in all, 100% well worth doing and I would do it again, just wish I had known what I know now! 😌🦭🫶

The crew  were friendly and shared info about the island and its history as we travelled to swim with seals. 🦭 It was truly magical to share the sea respectfully with many playful seals in their natural habitat  …. It also felt a real treat to be in a space thriving with wildlife !!!  We enjoyed amazing snorkeling from Lundy and spotted the largest starfish I have ever seen🤩Thank you for making this happen…. I had a lovely excursion to Lundy with Gemma and Sam.  The Barbara B was lovely and we had a smooth trip. We had a short break on the island this was enough time to mooch to the village, old light house and eat some lunch, some of group swam and rested on the beach.   We headed off for a tour around the island taking in the views and wildlife  finishing off with a dip (if you chose to!) with seals before heading back. Crew were friendly and knowledgable. Brilliant day out despite no sunshine got to see the puffins and swim with seals and have a trip around the island although the sea was a tad bouncy. Would have been nice for an explanation of the trip on the boat eg what the boat was called how long it would take to get there where we would be stopping for a swim and some information about the island itself. Maybe this could be done on future trips. It’s nice to know what you are going to be doing, what coves you are visiting information about what is on the island itself.  A fantastic day out will definitely come again.

Wonderful trip to Lundy - loved the crossing, with tons of Manx shearwaters scything along beside us. We had a couple of hours to explore the beautiful island followed by a fact-filled circumnavigation,  including a pause to watch the busy colony of puffins, kittiwakes and guillemots. Our day was rounded off with a beautiful swim in perfect calm clear water in a sheltered bay, with curious grey seals all around at extremely close quarters!

The most incredible day out with Lundy Diving. We were incredibly lucky with the weather/conditions which made for an extremely enjoyable day.
The ride over takes about 1hr 15mins, we were lucky enough to spot a couple of dolphins on the way over. We were given plenty of time to explore the island itself, we visited two beaches, the church, the shop, the pub, the museum and saw plenty of wildlife. We also climbed to the top of the lighthouse, worth the views if you can face the 147 steps! The island was really quiet and beautifully peaceful. 
Once we were back on board we went to Jenny’s Cove on the other side of the island to do a spot of Puffin watching, it was amazing to see them. Lots of other beautiful sea birds to spot as well as great views of the island. We then headed back over to the other side of the island for our swimming with seals session. Getting in/out is made really easy as you get to use the dive lift, so fun! It’s fantastic watching the seals in their own environment and if you’re lucky enough they will come over to say hello and may be nibble the edge of your fins. We also spotted plenty of other wildlife including moon jellyfish, compass jellyfish, a common starfish, blue jellyfish and lots of comb jellies! 
The staff on board are so friendly and a special shout out to Gemma for looking after you and making sure you are comfortable and having a good time. The staff are also extremely knowledgeable about the island and the wildlife. 
All in all an amazing day out, I would highly recommend.

Wow, I don’t really even know where to start! From start to finish the trip was amazing. A little choppy heading out but Leigh made the boat journey so easy on everyone. Lizzie was showing us all the birds on our way. We pulled up to where we would get in with the seals, learnt about the code of conduct and all the information we needed to enter the water. 

I think at one point I had 6 seals all around me full of curiosity and so inquisitive and so gentle. They had a little nibble of my fins but were so soft with their teeth it was amazing. 

We just let them come to us as Lizzie suggested and it was such a perfect bucket list experience. I 100% would recommend it, I was a little unsure at first but once in the water I knew I had nothing to be nervous about.

Been driving here twice from Germany and it's worth every penny!!! such a great encounter with lovely wild animals . Perfect for underwater photographers or people who just love to have a cute seal right in front of them or get nibbled on their fins!.

Been to a lot of places around the world and I would never have thought that a place like that exists that close. My brother prefers the fun with the seals even over sperm whale encounters underwater.... which tells you how fun and great it can be :) !!

The crew are so lovely and friendly with lots of local knowledge. Polly the animal behaviourist joined us  from #pollyinparadise  which was brilliant.
Lundy is a gorgeous rugged Island with a lovely Pub and Church.
Swimming with the seals is magical and to top it off we were met with a pod of Common Dolphins on the way home so we slowed down and they played around the boat for 10 minutes, that was really the cherry on the cake of an unforgettable day.

We had a fantastic visit to Lundy on Wednesday. We were given a warm welcome from Gemma and her Skipper on boarding the ‘Barbara B’. With plenty of time to visit Lundy Island, morning coffee in the pub, snacks from the village shop, a walk up to the top of ‘The Old Light’ with views of the whole Island. To our delight a bell ringing competition in the church and finally visiting the castle before being picked up at the jetty. To our delight we were then taken further up the island to swim with the seals. They did not disappoint, a truly wonderful experience with plenty of time given to enjoy these majestic creatures. With hot drinks to warm up afterwards. A magical experience supported by a lovely team at ‘Lundy diving’. I would highly recommend and I’ll be back again next year. Thank you.

An absolutely excellent day spent in the company of the  Lundy Diving team. At all times the crew were professional, helpful, knowledgeable and always looking out for our safety and the safety and well being of the wonderful seals we were privileged to swim with. 
No wonder this company has just been awarded the Prestige Boat Charter of the Year Award for the Southwest. They thoroughly deserve it and I highly recommend Lundy Diving… if you are after a wonderful experience getting close to the seals of Lundy and visiting the island itself.

Amazing experience! Everything was planned to go so smoothly and the genuine passion of the crew was obvious throughout the day. The vast majority of people on the boat were return customers and I can 100% see why because I can't wait to do it again! 

This was my second trip to Lundy to swim with seals and again it was amazing. Great interaction from the seals, swimming with us, playing hide and seek and basically being like a puppy would on land.

We absolutely loved our day out swimming with seals with Lundy Diving! The swimming with seals was absolutely magical - they are such inquisitive friendly creatures. Our great skippers Ben and Nigel (who were great fun!) knew exactly where to find the seals. We had 2 hours with the seals and could get in and out of the water as often as we liked. They  also kept us supplied with hot drinks which was fab. As well as swimming with the seals, we loved having a couple of hours on the Island to explore a bit. The boat trip out and back was also fun (around 1hour 20 mins each way).
A really memorable, fantastic day!! 
Thank you soo much Lundy Diving!! We will definitely be back :-)

What a fabulous day from start to finish.  Well organised, welcomed on to the boat which had plenty of space and room to sit. Good safety briefing with a sense of humour. Very knowledgeable staff took us to Lundy for our exploration of the island first. This was beautiful. Then we were taken round the other side of the island to find the seals. Very well briefed by the staff on how to behave around the seals. Amazing to be in the water for 2 hours with such gorgeous creatures. Easy getting on and off the boat with an electric lift.  Welcomed back on board with a nice hot chocolate. We even got a badge to timber our day.  Just an absolute splendid trip. 🦭 🦭 🦭 🦭

Amazing experience! We were left plenty of time to dive with the seals and enjoy those unique moments, after having been given an attentive and detailed safety brief. Then we were given a couple of hours to explore the picturesque Lundy Island. Stuff is prepared and the whole booking process is smooth. Absolutely recommended!

This is my third trip with Lundy Diving and - as always - it was the most wonderful day on a great boat with fabulous crew to the most stunningly beautiful place. Swimming with seals is such an enormous privilege and I loved every second! Being able to see that they were so relaxed and comfortable with our presence is an absolute joy (one even fell asleep just below us!). I can't recommend this trip enough - a day of wild and untouched nature, peace and adventure! I'm still smiling! 😊

Had a wonderful time and boat crew were very hospitable.  Would have only changed the length of time we were on Lundy Island, would have preferred more time swimming with the seals and less time on the Island especially when the shop was closed and the Taverna had stopped serving food before we got there.  Still it was a brilliant day, super boat crew, lovely seals and fab boat ride!  Will be back to do it again.

Another Special day with Lundy Diving . A great boat , experienced friendly crew and a wonderful swim with the seals . This is an amazing wildlife experience, such a privilege to swim with the seals in the wild totally on their terms .  Lovely to also have time ashore to explore Lundy . Amazing day with Lundy Diving! A great boat which handled the chop well, I’m used to seeing others get sea sick on boat trips but everyone enjoyed the journey! Knowledgable crew who were very professional, they seem very well versed and the whole day went without a hitch. We had incredible interactions with the seals, Lundy Diving were responsible and gave us guidance on interacting with them and how to ensure we didn’t bother them. The seals seemed to love it and so did I! Can’t wait to return!

This was 2nd year of swimming with seals with Lundy Diving and was just as great 2nd time round!  Professional and knowledgeable, lovely to have time to explore the island as well as swim with the seals. Saw dolphins on the way back too.. Thank you to the crew and everyone at Lundy Diving. Next year will brave the cold and do an a full dive!

I went with my 10 year old daughter having watched it on The wild isles TV documentary. I have wanted to do something like this for years.
I can safely say my daughter and I loved it and was easily the best nature experience I gave had in the UK.
The seals were so curious when in the water and we were really able to get close. We were even luckily enough to see dolphins swimming along our boat on the way back. Truly a great experience and will hopefully book for us  both next year.  Piece of advice is a thick wetsuit, 5. 4 ideal.

The third time this season! Yes, this ‘experience’ is addictive. Seriously addictive! Gemma and the team are fountains of knowledge, knowing the best places to snorkel and enjoy all that Lundy has to offer.  I will be rebooking, as each time there is always something new to share. I loved it!
