Swimming with seals at Lundy Island can be a unique and exhilarating experience for several reasons.

We had a fantastic visit to Lundy on Wednesday. We were given a warm welcome from Gemma and her Skipper on boarding the ‘Barbara B’. With plenty of time to visit Lundy Island, morning coffee in the pub, snacks from the village shop, a walk up to the top of ‘The Old Light’ with views of the whole Island. To our delight a bell ringing competition in the church and finally visiting the castle before being picked up at the jetty. To our delight we were then taken further up the island to swim with the seals. They did not disappoint, a truly wonderful experience with plenty of time given to enjoy these majestic creatures. With hot drinks to warm up afterwards. A magical experience supported by a lovely team at ‘Lundy diving’. I would highly recommend and I’ll be back again next year. Thank you.

We absolutely loved our day out swimming with seals with Lundy Diving! The swimming with seals was absolutely magical - they are such inquisitive friendly creatures. Our great skippers Ben and Nigel (who were great fun!) knew exactly where to find the seals. We had 2 hours with the seals and could get in and out of the water as often as we liked. They  also kept us supplied with hot drinks which was fab. As well as swimming with the seals, we loved having a couple of hours on the Island to explore a bit. The boat trip out and back was also fun (around 1hour 20 mins each way).
A really memorable, fantastic day!!

What a fabulous day from start to finish.  Well organised, welcomed on to the boat which had plenty of space and room to sit. Good safety briefing with a sense of humour. Very knowledgeable staff took us to Lundy for our exploration of the island first. This was beautiful. Then we were taken round the other side of the island to find the seals. Very well briefed by the staff on how to behave around the seals. Amazing to be in the water for 2 hours with such gorgeous creatures. Easy getting on and off the boat with an electric lift.  Welcomed back on board with a nice hot chocolate. We even got a badge to timber our day.  Just an absolute splendid trip. 🦭 🦭 🦭 🦭

Amazing day with Lundy Diving! A great boat which handled the chop well, I’m used to seeing others get sea sick on boat trips but everyone enjoyed the journey! Knowledgable crew who were very professional, they seem very well versed and the whole day went without a hitch. We had incredible interactions with the seals, Lundy Diving were responsible and gave us guidance on interacting with them and how to ensure we didn’t bother them. I went with my 10 year old daughter having watched it on The wild isles TV documentary. I have wanted to do something like this for years.
I can safely say my daughter and I loved it and was easily the best nature experience I gave had in the UK.
The seals were so curious when in the water and we were really able to get close. We were even luckily enough to see dolphins swimming along our boat on the way back. Truly a great experience and will hopefully book for us  both next year.  Piece of advice is a thick wetsuit, 5. 4 ideal.

What a fabulous day.  There was a friendly greeting and chat at the quayside before we made our way to the boat which had plenty of space and we later discovered was very fast.  Our captain and crew were welcoming and obviously knew what they were doing.  Loved the time spent on Lundy but the definite highlight of the trip was the swim with seals.  Captain Craig found exactly the right bay, gave us plenty of advice on how to get the most from the experience and lowered us down on the dive lift.  The seals were playful and inquisitive and we all had lots of interaction.  The hot drink between swims was just what we needed.  We’ll be bringing friends back with us next year

Worth every penny!! This trip truly was fantastic from start to finish. Me and my partner decided to book with Lundy Diving after hearing great reviews, and we weren't dissapointed. The skippers ( who's names has escaped me) were brilliant, really friendly and informative. They also made a mean hot chocolate for after swimming! The boat ride over to Lundy is a little lengthy but the drive was good and we were lucky with the weather, there's also a toilet on board thankfully. The afternoon worth of snorkeling the coastline was so so good, both skippers were on hand at any minute if needed. They kept a great eye on us all whilst in the water, and helped to point us in the direction of the seals. This truly was an all round lovely experience, made perfect by Lundy Diving. So thank you guys, you really smashed it in every aspect!

Unforgettable Snorkelling Adventure at Lundy!
Our trip to Lundy was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We started the day by exploring the island — a beautiful, peaceful place with stunning views and plenty of wildlife. Then came the real highlight: snorkelling with the seals!

The seals were incredibly playful and curious, often swimming right up to us. It was a magical experience to be in the water with such amazing creatures in their natural habitat.

The crew were brilliant — friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made everyone feel at ease, gave great guidance, and were always ready to help. A special mention for the hot drinks they had waiting for us after the snorkel — a small but very thoughtful touch that made a big difference.

All in all, it was a memorable day of adventure, nature, and great company. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a unique UK wildlife experience!

We were incredibly lucky to even see dolphins from the minute we left the harbour which the team slowed down and allowed us to watch. The crew are friendly and relaxed and we never felt rushed to finish our swim, also really appreciated a cup of tea after. The stop on Lundy island was lovely, we even saw a little seal bobbing on the shore line and watched him for ages from the rocks, it's was incredibly peaceful. Highly recommend if you want to snorkel in the UK to see seals swimming around you. Parked easily at the harbour at 8am. Boat left promptly, not overcrowded, friendly crew that kept an eye on us the whole time anyone was in the water. The lift means you can be lowered in (great for us contact lens wearers) and don’t have to attempt to haul yourself back onboard. We saw about 6 seals swimming near us, blowing bubbles, turning upside down -seeing them in the water is something we will never forget. We were glad we wore wetsuits to keep us a bit warmer, it is cold when you first get in! We were also lucky to see 2 dolphins within minutes of leaving Ilfracombe harbour, amazing! Seems to be a family/local run business. 😊  We’ll definitely be back to do it again. The ladder on and off Lundy Island was a bit more ‘exciting’ than I’d anticipated but the crew look after you. The pub on Lundy did a nice lunch at a reasonable price, friendly staff.

The trip was amazing!  We were briefed fully on what was going to happen that day. The crew looked after us. Lundy island is a must visit and you need to have a drink in the tavern. Back on to the boat the crew took us to an area where it looked like there might be a couple of seals. We got in the water and swam with the seals.  There must have been about 20 seals in total! The crew gave us a hot chocolate when we got out the water to help warm us up. It was a fabulous experience and one I would recommend! Oh, and we saw dolphins on our way to Lundy Island!

We had heard about this from friends and family and were so excited. We were a little disappointed. We expected drinking water to be included for an 8 hour trip. However we loved the hot chocolate after swimming. 
Also for the price, we expected wetsuits flippers and snorkels to be included. This should be made more clear in the information pack that we should bring our own wetsuits. 
The seals were great but I think we unfortunately caught them on a very quiet day so were not as interactive as we hoped. The staff were friendly.

What a fantastic day. A long day, but fantastic.

The staff were great, extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. 

Regarding the layout of the day, it was slightly unfortunate that due to the weather we had to hold off the swim till the afternoon, meaning 3 hours on the island, which is lovely. But the island pub is closed for foot from 10am-12pm, making it a tight squeeze to be back on the boat for 1pm. 

Because of the weather it meant that a majority of the seals were digesting their food whilst swimming in the afternoon, meaning a limited interaction. I would say go into the swim with a lower expectation of “swimming with seals” and more swimming in the vicinity of. We were still extremely happy with the experience. They are wild animals after all. 

Got drinks and chocolate when boarding the boat post swim was exactly what was needed.

A couple of hours on Lundy afterwards gave a good taster of the terrain, the pub food (recommended) and the view from the top of the lighthouse (worth the climb). I'll be back to experience both again with friends next year.

Bought as a surprise for my girlfriend's birthday, what an incredible experience, we both absolutely loved it. Easy to book and reasonable price. The two crew we had on the boat were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the warm drinks when getting out of the water were gratefully received! Wow what a fantastic day from start to finish crew were so knowledgeable about the island and the immense history surrounding it, the seals were delightful and comical at times  like meerkats of the sea heads popping up all over, this trip you definitely want to take i have only just returned home and already i am planning my return  trip with Lundy divers , A big thank you to all the

Swimming with seals at Lundy Island can be a unique and exhilarating experience for several reasons.

This trip is one swim with seals session 1hr and then a session to go see the puffins around the Island at Jenny’s cove

Firstly, Lundy Island is home to a large population of Atlantic grey seals, making it an ideal location to observe and interact with these fascinating marine creatures. The seals on Lundy Island are known for their inquisitive and playful nature, and swimming with them allows you to witness their graceful movements and observe their natural behaviour in their own environment.

Furthermore, Lundy Island's seal population is protected under the Conservation of Seals Act 1970, which has allowed their numbers to grow significantly. This protection ensures the preservation of the seal colony and contributes to the long-term sustainability of the species.

Swimming with seals at Lundy Island can therefore offer a thrilling and educational experience as you connect with these incredible marine animals in their natural habitat.

If we are unable to make it round the other side of the island to see the Puffins due to weather conditions another seal swim will be given instead.

An amazing day. I went for the first time last year and loved it! Even better this year as I went earlier in the season and saw Puffins. The dolphins were the absolute cherry on top!
